Profile

Established as a project of Menai Baptist Church in 1982, Inaburra School offers a quality Christian education in a caring environment for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
The School is acknowledged as being innovative and progressive. Inaburra has a history of excellent performance in - academic results, music (including talent quests, stage band, orchestra, vocal ensembles, choirs, and peripatetic lessons), performing arts, Media and theology/philosophy. Inaburra was named "Best Engineering School in NSW in 2008" by University of Wollongong.
Subjects are taught within the context of Christian values and a wide range of programs for able children and those with learning difficulties is offered.
On-going education is highly regarded by many parents who choose to send their children to Inaburra and this leads to the great majority of students completing Year 12 and choosing to attend University or undertake TAFE or related courses. Facilities at Inaburra include a Media Centre, TV Edit Suite with Audiovisual Mixing Rooms, a Student Radio Station, 4 Computer Labs, Drama Room, Library/Learning Centre, refurbished Courts, Gymnasium, and a Careers Unit. Mandarin is a specialist language.
Inaburra has an assertive discipline policy with pro-active counselling and welfare. The welfare structure of the School involves small home groups. House Directors and Peer Support Groups, School Counsellors are also available.
There is a clear School uniform policy.

Kindy - Year 6

An innovative and exciting academic program, facilitated by experienced classroom practitioners. Opportunities exist for Year 6 children to commence Year 7 studies with accreditation awarded for the School Certificate. The Sports program offers opportunities for involvement in representative teams in Athletics, Cross-country and Gymnastics. A skills-based Physical Education and Fitness program operates weekly.

Years 7 - 12

Years 7–10: Subjects are taught in the following areas: Commerce, Geography, History, Visual Arts, Food Technology, Technics (Metal/Auto, Wood), Technical Drawing, Textiles & Design, Mandarin, Music, Drama, Media, Computing Studies.
Years 11–12: English, Ancient and Modern History, Chemistry, Economics, Community & Family Studies, Legal Studies, Physics, Food Technology, Mathematics, Music, Visual Arts, Biology, Geography, Legal Studies, Information Processes & Technology, Software and Design, Business Studies, Design & Technology, Drama, French, Media & Communications, PD/ Health/PE, VOCED Courses.

Religious education: Compulsory.

Sports & Extra Curricular Activities

Rugby Union, Soccer, Cricket, Tennis, Swimming, Surfing, Basketball, Netball, Softball – extra costs for some sports. Sport is a weekly program. The School is involved in a local schools’ competitive sporting program, and NSW CIS competitions.

Computer Facilities

The School’s Windows and Apple computers are available for use in class, in 4 dedicated labs (including a Design Centre) and in the Library/Learning Centre. The Library has an on-line computer catalogue system. The School also has Internet access. Computer education is compulsory for Years K-8 and is an elective in Years 9-12.

Full and/or partial scholarships are available for students entering years 7 and 11. Candidates must contact the School and return the appropriate application form. Scholarship details are advertised yearly (January/February) in the St. George and Sutherland Leader.
