A Warm Welcome

Knox is an independent boys’ school of promise and challenge. We offer an outstanding range of educational and developmental opportunities from Kindergarten, through to the NSW Higher School Certificate in Year 12, both to boarding and day students, under the auspices of the Uniting Church of Australia.

A Home at School - Boarding

Knox is one of Australia’s leading Boarding Schools specialising in boys’ education; Knox prepares boys for university and the world beyond.
The background of our boarding community is genuinely mixed – boys come from country properties and towns, surrounding suburbs and overseas.
Outstanding performance over the last five years in HSC results validates the structured daily study program, which includes visiting tutors and where the School’s impressive facilities are available for the Boarding Community to use.
Boarders have the benefit of first class facilities including a new Dining Room. A new five-level Boarding House will be ready in 2010 and will provide the following state-of-the-art facilities:
• Single rooms for senior boarders (Yrs 11 and 12) with ensuite
• Quad rooms for junior boarders (Yrs 7-10) with two ensuites
• Recreation rooms, breakout spaces, kitchen facilities and reading and study areas
• Clinic, comprising an 8-bed ward, nurses’ overnight accommodation unit and observation ward

One Step Ahead - Curriculum

At Knox we aim for all boys to realise their full academic potential. While academic standards across the School are high, we offer a wide range of subjects to cater for different needs and interests from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our Years 11 and 12 curriculum tends to focus more on the academic subjects that lead towards tertiary entry.

Team Players – Sport

Sport plays a significant part in the life of every Knox boy. It is intended that all boys should leave Knox with not only a good academic education but the fundamentals of fair play and good sportsmanship.
Boys learn about teamwork - commitment to a team or individual play, following rules of the game, abiding by the referee’s decision, and celebrating success or supporting team mates in loss.

Inspiration – Creativity

The extensive co-curricular activities at Knox are in place to expand and challenge the students. These activities include a substantial involvement in drama, music, art, chess, debating and public speaking as well as special-interest clubs for such activities as science and robotics.

A Lot to Offer

Facilities

Knox provides innovative learning experiences through outstanding facilities.
The Preparatory School and Senior School campuses are self-contained with fully equipped regular and specialist classrooms, well stocked libraries, various performance spaces and computer laboratories.
Outstanding sport facilities exist on both campuses with rugby fields, tennis and basketball courts. All students have access to the swimming pool and gymnasium as well as the additional purpose-built cricket, rugby and football fields off campus.

Discovery – Outdoor Adventure

Knox provides boys with the opportunity to learn and expand their horizons beyond the classroom and school grounds through a range of outdoor adventure and touring experiences.
In addition to this, boys in both the Preparatory and Senior School can join a number of regular sporting or cultural tours to interstate and overseas destinations.

Spiritual Life

Knox Grammar School began as a Presbyterian Church School, securing its traditions on the basis of Scottish conventions. In 1977, Knox became a school of the Uniting Church in Australia to whom it remains totally committed in faith and practice.
By enhancing spiritual growth through the development of faith, we encourage boys to make and maintain a commitment to Jesus Christ and His teaching as will lead them to develop a mature Christian life.
