A School of Achievement

Golden Grove High School is a Public comprehensive co-educational secondary school.

The Campus has implemented a major LAN project with a state of the art IT infrastructure.

The school is a Centre of Excellence in the Arts, with a Special Entry Dance program, commencing at Year 8.

We have a special focus on the Spanish and Japanese languages.

Achievement levels in the Middle School are at an all time record high : 85% of all grades were A,B,C.

Our students scored above the State average in all levels of the University of NSW National Mathematics Competition, which included students from public and private schools.
Our data shows that in 2006 97.4% of Year 11 and 12 students who left school have moved successfully on to valid post-school pathways.

The Arts

Magnificent dance, drama and music performances throughout the year. In 2006 the school won the State Secondary Section of the Wakikirri Performing Arts Competition and our Rock Eisteddfod production came 4th.

Sports

An elite Physical Education program at Year 10 – designed for gifted and academically able sports students is offered to specific students for 2007.

• In 2006 we celebrated two State Champion sporting teams – the Year 8/9 Girls Netball and the Year 8 Boys Rugby. Our Year 8/9 Boys Cricket Team competed in the State Finals and our Year 8/9 Girls Basketball were State Title Runners Up.

• Three GGHS students were recruited to AFL Clubs via the 2006 AFL Draft: Shane Edwards (Richmond), Gavin Hughes (Bulldogs) and Adam Cockshell (Port Power).
