The two Pathway of Excellence alternatives offer Year 11 and 12 students the choice of achieving a QCE through unique academic or vocational avenues. The academic pathway, Pathway of Excellence: Academic, involves the completion of five QSA subjects and enrolment in up to a total of two university subjects. Those students who successfully complete a Griffith University Early Start to Tertiary Studies (GUESTS) course and meet associated Griffith University enrolment criteria will be offered a ‘Guaranteed Offer of Entry’ to Griffith University the year following their Year 12 graduation. The vocational program, Pathway of Excellence: Apprenticeships, involves the commencement of a traineeship or apprenticeship, with students spending four weeks at school attending classes, followed by four weeks in the workforce being paid as an apprentice or trainee. This pathway will also offer applicable students a maximum Tertiary Entrance Rank equivalent to an OP 10 on successful completion of their trade qualification.
