Excellence in Education

Brisbane Christian College offers an excellent academic and co-curricular education based on Christian values.

With around 500 students from Pre-Prep to Year 12, we offer individualised attention and comparably smaller sized classes.

We help our students develop to their highest possible academic potential, to discover their gifts and to learn in a safe, pleasant, well disciplined and creative environment.

Christian Values

Brisbane Christian College places great importance on the positive Christian culture that is developed throughout the College, from Pre-Prep to Year 12. Through learning about and practising Christian values, students develop a guiding set of principles by which to live.

Rich Curriculum

Brisbane Christian College's academic and co-curricular programs complement the College’s goal to develop students’ critical thinking and Christian values in a modern, nurturing environment. This combination of well-taught core and elective subjects, as well as the opportunity to participate in camps, music, sport, debating, competitions and other activities, leads to the development of students' confidence and resilience, which are essential for productive growth and success.

Pre-Prep (Kindy)

Brisbane Christian College offers an integrated, caring and educational Pre-Prep program for 3- to 5-year-olds. Our nurturing Pre-Prep teachers are tertiary qualified, experienced professionals.

Our new Pre-Prep Centre also offers affordable fees with Child Care Benefit and Child Care Rebate availability.

In 2010 Pre-Prep moved to its own site which features high-tech, modern facilities with pre-numeracy and pre-literacy learning activities. The centre is open from 8am to 4pm and offers both five-day-week and five-day-fortnight play-based programs and Pre-Prep school holiday programs.

International Students Welcome

Brisbane Christian College welcomes international students into mainstream lessons, with the opportunity to improve their English speaking and literacy skills in class and through dedicated on-site tutoring programs.

Homestay accommodation with local families is organised for international students to provide them with a caring, supportive home environment.

Pathway of Excellence program

Brisbane Christian College’s Year 11 and 12 students will benefit from the College’s revolutionary Pathway of Excellence program options from 2012. The two Pathway of Excellence alternatives offer Year 11 and 12 students the choice of achieving a QCE through unique academic or vocational avenues.

The academic pathway, Pathway of Excellence: Academic, involves the completion of five QSA subjects and enrolment in up to a total of two university subjects. Those students who successfully complete a Griffith University Early Start to Tertiary Studies (GUESTS) course and meet associated Griffith University enrolment criteria will be offered a ‘Guaranteed Offer of Entry’ to Griffith University the year following their Year 12 graduation.

The vocational program, Pathway of Excellence: Apprenticeships, involves the commencement of a traineeship or apprenticeship, with students spending four weeks at school attending classes, followed by four weeks in the workforce being paid as an apprentice or trainee. This pathway will also offer applicable students a maximum Tertiary Entrance Rank equivalent to an OP 10 on successful completion of their trade qualification.
