Excellence

Christ Church has an outstanding reputation for inspiring excellence in its students in all aspects of its programs. The School prides itself on developing the capability of all boys and their educational needs from those who are academically gifted through to students with learning challenges.

Phases of Learning

As a boy progresses from Pre-Primary to Year 12, he will experience six, distinct Phases of Learning. From Pre-Primary to Year 2, learning starts with the phase 'Play with Purpose', it continues into Years 3 and 4 with 'Fun with Fundamentals' and evolves in Years 5 and 6 to 'Inquiry and Initiative'. Once a boy moves into the Senior School, the focus of learning in Years 7 and 8 is on 'Breadth and Depth', develops in Years 9 and 10 to 'Choice and Challenge' and culminates with 'Excellence and Expertise' in Years 11 and 12.

Pastoral Care

This learning journey is supported by a highly developed pastoral care structure where each boy is known extremely well by his tutor, teachers and Housemaster. This combined approach is designed to give every boy a feeling of security and belonging within the School.

Co-Curricular

Christ Church has an impressive co-curricular program that is varied and broad. The breadth reflects the diverse interests of the boys, including the arts, cadets, outdoor education and many others, too numerous to list. The program provides abundant opportunities for all boys to diversify their experiences and develop in confidence.

Location and Facilities

The School overlooks the Swan River in Claremont – an ideal location for its thriving water sports programs. Facilities include the chapel, a visual arts, design and technology centre, a state-of-the-art information and technology centre, gymnasium precinct and a heated 50m swimming pool.

Residential Community

The Residential Community accommodates 110 boys from regional WA, interstate and overseas. This close-knit community, where boys are accommodated in one of two boarding houses overlooking the river, is intimate enough for each boy to feel a sense of responsibility for his welfare and success and yet large enough to allow a diverse range of personalities to flourish.
