Armidale High is a co-educational comprehensive high school from Year 7 to 12 with close links to the University of New England. It opened in 1920 and has a long and proud tradition of academic, sporting and cultural success. |

Our motto literally means: Courage Honesty Happiness. Sung proudly in the School Song at every Formal Assembly, our motto symbolises the values we teach- integrity, tolerance and celebration of difference, kindness and consideration of others. Our students learn the skills and values to be a successful and responsible global citizen. |

Armidale High has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, especially in the core subjects. A wide variety of subjects is on offer from Year 7 onwards including a choice of French, German, Italian and Japanese. There are extension programs and remedial classes and all students are supported in achieving their potential. |

Armidale High offers opportunities to participate in a huge variety of sporting, cultural and academic competitions. In the creative and performing arts students can join jazz combo, concert band, string ensemble, vocal group, choir and dance group. Leadership opportunities include SRC, Junior AECG and Senior Student Leadership Team with seven captains. |

Armidale High has modern science labs, three computer labs, auditorium and indoor stadium. A Special Education Unit offers support for thirty students with special needs. The modern library offers a dedicated study space for seniors on the mezzanine level. An agriculture plot allows students to experience a model farm. |

The school organises overseas trips for students, sometimes in a sister school program. A student led E-Squad keeps watch and raises awareness of environmental issues. The Armidale Aboriginal community is active in raising awareness of Aboriginal culture in the school. |
