Our School

Armidale High is a co-educational comprehensive high school from Year 7 to 12 with close links to the University of New England.

It opened in 1920 and has a long and proud tradition of academic, sporting and cultural success.

Fortiter Fideliter Feliciter

'Courage , Honesty, Happiness'; sung proudly in the School Song at every Formal Assembly, our motto symbolises the values we teach- integrity, tolerance and celebration of difference, kindness and consideration of others.

Our students learn the skills and values to be a successful and responsible global citizen.

Curriculum

Armidale High has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, especially in the core subjects.

A wide variety of subjects is on offer from Year 7 onwards including a choice of French, German, Italian and Japanese.

There are extension and remedial classes and all students are supported in achieving their potential.

Vocational Education is fostered through close links with the Armidale TAFE and local communities.

In the creative and performing arts students can join jazz combo, concert band, string ensemble, vocal group, choir and dance group.

Leadership opportunities include SRC, Junior AECG and Senior Student Leadership Team with seven captains.
