Collingwood College

Welcome to Collingwood College

Collingwood College is a government Prep to Year 12 (P-12) school that was established in 1882. Located in the inner-city suburb of Collingwood, Collingwood College has a rich history and is a culturally diverse school with over 800 students. Embracing our core value of diversity, we have up to 80 international students from countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, and more.

At Collingwood College, our students’ well-being is our top priority, as we understand the direct correlation between a child’s wellbeing and the continuous improvement of their learning outcomes.

Our classroom facilities are open and spacious, whilst being well-equipped with the latest technology for our students. All our buildings are connected to a high-powered wireless network that enables students to access state-of-the-art eLearning throughout the college.

Our commitment to high achievement

The main campus of our school is arranged with two sub-schools; Primary and Secondary. The design of each sub-school is appropriately tailored to be a nurturing environment for children at each stage of their development.

We’re excited to announce that our joint campus, Wurun, is now open specifically for our Senior Students and those students in year 10 that are undertaking an enhancement.

Additionally, Collingwood College provides an English Language Centre to support eligible international and English as an Additional Language (EAL) students. We also host an additional specialist campus — the Collingwood Alternative School, which provides educational opportunities to students through a hands-on learning program or Operation Newstart.

Our students go on to study at top-quality institutions such as the University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT University, La Trobe University, the Institute of Technical and Further Education, and more.

Our Vision and Values

We inspire young people to be well-balanced, strong and creative individuals who make a positive difference to our community. We cultivate a rich and diverse curriculum.

Our values are the compass for our learning community. They are reflected in our behaviour, our decisions and shape our interactions.

Warun Senior Campus

Our newly established Wurun Senior campus will continue our decade-long partnership with Fitzroy High school by offering well-integrated senior secondary education in the City of Yarra. Embracing our culturally rich and demographically diverse community, the Wurun campus will offer exciting benefits for our students from tailored partnership opportunities with local businesses, services, and tertiary institutions.

Extra Curricular Activities

To make the most of their educational experiences and maximise their academic potential, we strongly encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities available at the school that include environmental and art clubs, debating, and music/performance opportunities.
We believe that active participation in these activities allows students to develop lifelong skills and enriched relationships.

Our College hosts an exciting music program across both instrumental and classroom based approaches that aims to stretch students’ musical abilities.

We have a proud record of high achievement amongst our graduates, with competitive results demonstrated through students’ pursuit of a wide range of tertiary music studies and performance contexts.

State-of-the-art Sports Complex

Collingwood College has excellent facilities, including a brand new, state of the art, $14m Sports Academy consisting of three full-size gymnasiums (with seating for spectators), an all-weather oval at the front of the school and a smaller grass oval to the rear.

From informal activities such as lunchtime basketball, indoor soccer and volleyball games, to competitive Inter-School Sport, many opportunities are given to all students to get involved in a range of sports and outdoor activities.
