Lithgow High School serves students within and beyond the Lithgow valley, which has a district population of approximately 20,000. Lithgow, a city 150 kilometres west of Sydney, is an industrial and commercial centre in a rural setting. Local industries include: mining, power generation, railway, defence, tourism and services.
