Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Manning Valley Anglican College’s website. I hope we can give you an insight into our school and our values.

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make in his or her life because school will play such a fundamental role in shaping the person he or she will become. I am sure that you will want a school which looks to unlock the treasure that lies within each child.

Our Philosophy

Manning Valley Anglican College serves the next generation of students from Taree, Wingham, Forster-Tuncurry and beyond, seeking to develop a life-long love of learning within them. We believe that the literacy and attitude developed in youth will ultimately enable students to pursue any path they choose. Our many goals are summarised in our College’s mission statement: To foster learning excellence in a Christian environment.

Students who graduate from Manning Valley Anglican College have been nurtured to become authentic and capable young Australians, who can be confident in their abilities and their identities as they continue their learning journey.

Facilities

From Junior School through Senior School, it is important to provide students with an environment which is comfortable, stimulating and encourages focus. At MVAC, our spacious, modern campus has been designed to provide facilities which complement our teaching and learning programs, providing staff with everything they might need to deliver an effective lesson.

Teaching and Learning

Manning Valley Anglican College has embraced the trends in education so that the Teaching and Learning style of the school is relevant to 21st Century learners. We help our students to develop independence, flexibility, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, global connection and habits of mind and heart within our Learning Framework. We support our students in developing knowledge, skills, confidence and faith to face the challenges of the future.

Students are provided with an individual based approach to education which encourages every child to fulfill their potential and let their light shine.

School Activities

Students are encouraged to take part in our annual Swimming, Athletics and Cross-Country Carnivals, helping them to explore their sporting talents and bond with their peers. Students from Year 3 onwards are also encouraged to try out as representatives in school sporting teams in a variety of sports, including soccer, netball, cricket and rugby.

They are also given the chance to express themselves in cultural and artistic pursuits, including entering poetry, essay and art competitions, joining in with the Junior and Senior Choirs, auditioning for the College Band, or joining the debate, drama and dance teams.
