St. John the Evangelist High School was founded in 1990. The School serves the Shoalhaven and surrounding regions. St Johns strives to be a peaceful, caring and friendly community.

The school's Religious Education program provides students with a range of worthwhile spiritual and intellectual experiences. These include completing Sacraments, participating in charitable activities, and learning about the community and social justice. |

St John's offers a broad curriculum which features core academic subjects, as well as two language choices and Vocational Education and Training subjects.
Just some of the many diverse subject choices are Geography, Aboriginal Studies, Agriculture, Textiles, Industrial Technology and Design and Technology. |

Many extra curricular activities are offered which augment the academic curriculum of the school. These include:
• School Musical or Annual Play
• Instrumental Program - in piano, guitar, flute, saxophone, keyboard and singing.
• Archibald Prize school portrait painting competition
• String Orchestra
• Choir
• Mathematics, English, Science, Geography and Computing competitions.
• Inter-School Debating and Public Speaking
• Tournament of Minds. The school has been very successful in this interesting competition.
• Mock Trials
St John's has a fine sporting tradition and has been successful at all levels in a number of sports. The structures are set up to allow maximum participation, catering for the whole range of abilities. Sports include: Athletics , Rugby League , Australian Rules , Rugby Union , Basketball , Soccer , Cross Country, Swimming, Cricket , Touch , Hockey, Triathlon and Netball. |

The school has a pro-active Careers Education department so students can be aware of the pathways available to them in the future. Activities include including 15 Career Lessons during year 9, visits to careers markets and a careers reference library. |

The school caters to the individual needs of students. Special Ed is a venue open to all students needing support for their individual needs. It provides opportunities for students that are not offered elsewhere in the school such as organised games at lunch time, quiet time when needed, support with exams, assessments and homework, Literacy and Numeracy support. |
