Welcome to Elizabeth Macarthur High School Community & Selective School

Elizabeth Macarthur High School is a Community and Selective School which offers places for all students. Selective class positions are offered to students identified through the selective high schools test and local or community students will always be offered places at our local school.

We structure our classes so that selective students work together within distinct core subject area classes and are partnered with community students for elective classes and sport.

Elizabeth Macarthur High School has a full range of Board Endorsed and Board Developed Courses, as well as VET content endorsed courses, and Extension English and Mathematics.

Elizabeth Macarthur High School serves the Narellan area and has excellent relationships with its feeder primary school Narellan Vale public School, Narellan Public Schoo, Oran Park and Harrington Park Public school.

We cater for gifted and talented students with Self Select for year 7 where independent learners can self-refer into a dynamic class where they set their own learning goals. The High Achievers class has student from years 8, 9 and 10 working together on problem solving and higher order thinking skills.

The assessment procedures at Elizabeth Macarthur High School and tasks for all students 7 to 12 set very high expectation for student engagement and achievement. Our merit system promotes self-motivation at its core and encourages our students to strive for their full potential as exceptional members of this community. We are proud to be a part of this essential initiative to foster excellence in public education in South Western Sydney.

Broad Curriculum

Elizabeth Macarthur High School offers a full range subjects from the English, English Extension, Mathematics, Mathematics Extension, Science, Agriculture, Social Sciences, History, PD/Health/PE, TAS- Life Technology, TAS- Industrial Arts, Visual and Performing Arts, Languages and Computer Studies faculties.

We also run a Kids@Work, Kids@Business, Kids@Uni program to immerse Stage 5 students into work experience, work readiness and Early Commencement HSC, SBAT (School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships), VET, and TAFE courses.

Elizabeth Macarthur High School also has exceptional links with the UWS Campbellwotn Campus and TAFE that offer Fast Forward mentoring programs and workshops for our students.

Exciting Extra Curricular Activities

Elizabeth Macarthur High School offers a variety of extra curricular activities which are developed to enhance student engagement at school.

The Performing Arts faculty offer opportunities for students to perform in School Spectacular, Regional Dance Festival and Band opportunities.

Visual Arts students are consistently representing Elizabeth Macarthur High School entering local and regional Visual Arts and Photography exhibitions and workshops and competitions state wide.

Agriculture has a fully operating farm which allows students to enter competitions and shows to exhibit their work and development while working with animals. The Agriculture farm at Elizabeth Macarthur High School exhibits championship animals and paraders. Students who participate in Agriculture are also invited to participate in the school's Equestrian team.

PD/Health/PE ensures students always have the opportunity to represent their school and be part of a team to play sports such as football, netball, golf and swimming and now we are the lead school in the roll out of the eat it work it move program for healthy students. Duke of Edinburgh is also an exciting challenge available to all students at our school.

Elizabeth Macarthur High School offers many more Extra Curricular Activities such as Debating, University competitions in Science, Maths and Computing, and Student Representative Council.

Elizabeth Macarthur High School has strong relationships with local primary schools, which was demonstrated in the 2014 ‘2567 Showcase’ which was an Extravaganza displaying performance talent of over 400 students from local primary schools, performing collaboratively with Elizabeth Macarthur High School, celebrating Public Education.
