Tyndale Christian School

Tyndale Christian School is a non-denominational, co-educational Prep to Year 12 school of approximately 870 students, set on 5.6 hectares in the outer western suburbs of Sydney. Tyndale is owned and governed by an association of Christian parents, and focuses on educating children in the context of a Christian community.

Students at Tyndale benefit from a technologically rich, teaching environment, with a one-to-one laptop program in Years 10-12, personal iPads in Middle School and all teaching spaces equipped with ICT Technology. In addition, there is recognition at Tyndale of the importance of fundamental skills, with a consistent approach to literacy in Primary School. Music skills are developed through extensive programs, including Year 4 Band, Concert Band, Praise and Worship groups and a Tutor program. While the school has a strong academic focus, and offers Extension classes and subjects, the diversity of children’s gifts is celebrated. Sporting teams, Drama activities, a fully equipped commercial kitchen and specialist facilities in Wood and Metal Technology, Graphics and Visual Arts, as well as an exemplary Learning Support Team ensure that all students have opportunities to achieve.

Christian discipleship and pastoral care are priorities at Tyndale. All students participate in Devotional and Biblical Studies programs, and school teachers meet weekly with small groups of students for discussion and relationship building. Camps are a highlight of the year for all students in Years 5 – 12, where strong peer and teacher relationships are fostered, in the midst of outdoor education, historical and cultural site visits and creative and study skills development.

Through biblically grounded, Christ-centred teaching and learning, students at Tyndale grow in their understanding of God’s world, and are enabled and encouraged to become disciples of Christ and serve Him in all areas of life.

Pre-School and Prep

Tyndale Pre-School
The Pre-School program focuses on independent learning and social skills with a specific emphasis on play-based learning. Pre-School is available to children who have reached 3 years of age.

Tyndale Prep
Prep is a school readiness program designed to provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. Prep caters for all children who turn 4 years of age by 31st July and therefore are eligible to commence Kindergarten in the following year.

Primary

The Primary (KG-6) section of Tyndale comprises of three or four classes per year level from Kindergarten through to Year Six. Each class has children of similar age with a class teacher as well as additional staffing in and Kindergarten. Year levels work closely and cooperatively together, ensuring a unified and harmonious working relationship between classes.

Primary School students are immersed in a world of cooperative, purposeful and interesting learning. Within this context, the gifts and abilities of individual children are nurtured. Opportunities are provided to use these abilities as the children work out their relationships with God, people and their culture or environment. Indeed, it is the school's view that relationship is the most effective teaching strategy and teachers should have high expectations of their students and themselves.

Secondary

At Tyndale Christian School all students are valued members of the school community and all are gifted in unique ways. At our school no student is valued over others and therefore the school does not place individual students on a pedestal.

Academic success is a priority in the Senior Years and Students in Years 11 and 12 are not expected to participate in compulsory Sport, although Year 11 students are able to play inter-school Sport activities.

In addition to their academic education, students throughout their years at Tyndale Christian School enjoy a range of extra curricular activities as well as excursions.
