Our School

Kingsgrove North High School is a comprehensive Year 7-12 secondary co-educational school comprising of students from diverse backgrounds. The School has a long tradition of high achievement across a wide curriculum. We have famous lawyers, medical practitioners and researchers, public officials, business people, artists, actors and sports people as our school graduates who continue to contribute to the school.
We are close to Beverly Hills Intensive English
Centre (IEC) and have an effective transition program from the IEC to our high school.

Kingsgrove is a quiet, green, cosmopolitan suburb approximately 20 minutes by train, south-west of the centre of Sydney. The school is near two major shopping centres and adjacent to a large park and within walking distance of Kingsgrove railway station.


The school caters for a full range of academic abilities and offers a wide range of elective courses including IT, The Arts, Languages and Humanities. There are extension programs and support to allow students to reach their potential.

Thinking, Learning and Creating

We believe that students learn best when they have opportunities for expression across many fields and when they produce work that brings together their knowledge and skills for a real purpose and real audience.

Performance, exhibition and publication encourages students to develop their creative skills. Dance, Choir and Music groups are showcased regularly in concerts, assemblies and within the community.

Students work with other local primary schools on numerous projects that strengthen relationships and promote excellence.

Our Welfare Team and Programs

We have a strong team to support our students:

Our welfare Team meets regularly to identify and solve issues for students. We have Trained teachers and community Mentors who assist and guide students, our counsellors run social skills training for students who wish to learn more about, anger management, assertiveness, negotiation and conflict resolution. The school provides a homework centre with tutors available and parents are encouraged to meet regularly with staff so all are fully aware of their student's progress and needs.

Special Features

Quality education is supported by state-of-the-art learning spaces across the curriculum.

For example: Science has specialized Senior HSC rooms ; Visual Arts has a digital production room and greenroom; History has a working museum; Social Sciences uses floor to ceiling display spaces and provide a focus on field work.
There is a Maths centre and technology room and a HSC study hub in the library for our senior students.
The school has a technology centre with up to date computers both PC and iPad.

PD/H/PE provides an equipped gym and a Senior Room with physical testing laboratory. A new oval with a computerised sprinkler system and two specialised mini soccer courts compliment the large oval. An indoor Futsal soccer court has also recently been added as well as a new outdoor gym with 20 fitness stations and two new Volleyball Courts.

The needs of students with English language, learning, physical and intellectual disabilities are catered for through our highly effective Support Unit and our specialised staff in learning difficulties, ESL and literacy.

Students are also provided with the opportunity to study Vocational Education and Training courses across 4 frameworks (Hospitality, Retail, Construction and Metals and Engineering) and to experience the world through work experience programs. The school has a Trade Training Centre including two new commercial kitchens and a textiles/technology classroom.

A recent addition is the Innovation Hub that caters for the extensive STEM program at the school. This new state of the art facility compliments the existing STEM room that was developed in 2019.
