Welcome to Canterbury Boys High School

Canterbury Boys High School is a comprehensive boys' high school.

At Canterbury Boys High School we endeavour to work in partnership with parents, students and the community to facilitate the academic, cultural, physical and social development of each student and in so doing encourage him to strive for excellence in all fields.

Canterbury Boys High School offers the eight Key Learning Areas in years 7 to 10 and a very wide range of academic subjects in HSC years.

Students not wishing to pursue academia at University can elect to study vocational courses at the school.

Individual Learning

Canterbury Boys High School specialises in strategies for boys' education. All students have the opportunities to achieve their personal best and reach their potential.

The school has a wealth of expertise in literacy and numeracy.

The Canterbury Boys High School gifted and talented program provides students with learning opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum.

At Canterbury Boys High School we use learning programs and specialised staff where needed and we work in partnership with parents and carers to assist students who have special learning needs.

Our school is committed to working with Aboriginal parents and community members in developing personalised plans for our Aboriginal students.

Pastoral Care

Canterbury Boys High School has widely acclaimed Welfare Programs that nurture a positive learning climate.

The school has a Student Support Officer on site to assist students with personal, social or academic issues.

Canterbury Boys High School also has a Community Liaison Officer with a whole school role.

Extra Curricular Activities

A range of extra-curricular programs are available for students including clubs in art, astronomy, chess, band and weight training. An after school boot camp and computer programming club also operate.

Students can unleash their creative flair through the schools theatre group.

Boys with particular interests and talents can participate in local and state-wide activities in visual arts, music and dance.

Sport is an important aspect of school life at Canterbury Boys High School with students having the opportunity to participate in a wide range of school, recreational and grade sports.

Homework

The school operates an after school Homework club two afternoons each week.
