College Overview

Redlands College is a co-educational, independent school in Wellington Point providing quality educational experiences within a Christ-centred environment for students in Prep to Year 12.

Established in 1988, the College was formed by members of the Churches of Christ to provide a school with a distinctively Christian emphasis. After more than twenty years, Redlands College has grown to accommodate more than 1250+ students with over 170 teaching and administrative staff.

The College is located on an eight hectare site in the beautiful bayside suburb of Wellington Point where students benefit from the wonderful bay breezes that come off the surrounding bay.

Spiritual Development

Redlands College welcomes families who seek support in raising their children by providing a high standard of education within a Christian environment. All teaching staff are practising Christians who support the College mission - Christ-centred excellence - and ethos and contribute to a caring “family” atmosphere.

Our Christian faith is fundamental to all aspects of the College, from the units of work we teach, resources used in teaching, to our behaviour policy and the relationships between staff, students and parents.

Resources and Facilities

Redlands College prides itself on its modern, state-of-the-art facilities, which are architecturally designed for the Queensland climate. The College has a variety of specialised facilities to meet the needs of Junior, Middle and Senior school students while a number of larger facilities are shared by the whole school community. These include indoor ball courts, a 25m heated indoor swimming pool, two ovals, a large resource library, a number of computer labs and an expressive arts building.

Furthermore, Redlands College also boasts a tri-level state-of-the-art Science Centre, and a new Junior sports and educational complex.

The tri-level Science Centre provides students with the most up to date science resources available including six specialised Science classrooms, four student investigation laboratories, two preparation and equipment rooms, a 160 seat lecture theatre, additional classrooms and IT, Science and Maths staffrooms. The Junior School complex provides an indoor sports court, learning resources centre, additional classrooms and staffrooms.

Our Schools

Junior School
The Junior School seeks to provide a solid foundation for each child’s education. It aims to provide each student with a Christ-centred, caring learning environment, offering a balanced academic and co-curricular programme enabling children to explore their interests and strengths. The highly qualified teachers plan and implement a focus on developing Literacy and Numeracy, promoting critical and creative thinking whilst effectively meeting the requirements of the curriculum.

Middle School
Challenge, excellence, excitement, relevance and the development of character, led by trustworthy mentors within a genuinely supportive and values driven environment, are vital for an effective education within these years. The Middle School aims to support students within a genuinely caring learning community. Over the past twenty years Redlands College has developed a reputation for excellence and care, and our Middle School is an extension of this development.

Senior School
Our extensive, dynamic programme for young men and women in Senior School provides spiritual, physical, intellectual and social development in a supportive, non-denominational Christian environment with a strong tradition of academic excellence. Students participate in the spiritual and service aspects of College life for their own spiritual growth. The curriculum provides an extensive range of subjects and is well balanced between rigorous foundation learning and opportunities for each individual to explore and develop their unique gifts and talents. Individualised vocational pathways provide an alternative for students wishing to pursue studies leading to a trade or skill.

Special Offerings

Further to our unique and award winning Vocational Education Programme, Redlands College also provides it's students with innovative and up to the minute technologies to increase and aid their learning.

Over our history, Redlands College has sought to incorporate information communication technologies (ICT) in learning in a meaningful, responsible and cost effective manner. In recent years, the number of computers available to students has increased and we have reached a point where, to realise the benefits of 21st century learning technologies, 1-to-1 access to ICT is the crucial next step in Middle and Senior Schools.

In 2011 Redlands College introduced a 1-1 iPad programme for students. This programme is unique and forward thinking and provides our students opportunities to integrate new technology into their schooling.

The innovative programme has promted other schools to reconsider their technology offerings and as a result Redlands College regularly welcomes visitors from schools and colleges around the country who are interested to see how our programme works.
