About Greensborough College

Greensborough College has in the past 5 years attracted a diverse student body and is building an excellent reputation. A key objective of all College Staff is to help our new students feel happy, secure and confident as they adjust to the greater complexity of secondary schooling. The college is committed to the development of its students into well educated, responsible young adults.

Respect and High Expectations are the touchstones that underpin how we work together.

Curriculum

Greensborough college is a school that is small enough for students to be known and cared for but large enough to offer a variety of curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities.

In Years 7 and 8, students undertake a core curriculum program that is designed to build up the necessary skills and competencies for the choices they will make in the middle years. Academically able students have the opportunity to apply for the High Achievers Program. Students are offered support for literacy and numeracy if they require it.

In Years 9 and 10, students start to develop pathways and have the opportunity to make choices about their subjects in our elective program. Students can choose subjects they are interested in to further develop their skills.

In Year 10, students have the opportunity of completing a VCE, VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) or VET (Vocational Education and Training) subject.

At VCE we offer a wide range of subjects from all disciplines allowing students to choose their subject areas of interest to help them excel.

School Production

For 20 years Greensborough College has produced and performed a School Production as an extra-curricular offering. Students from Year 7 to 12 are invited to audition and be a part of this unique and exciting school activity.
We would like to think that we encourage our performing arts students to ‘Defy Gravity’.
Parents, students, staff and the wider community are warmly welcomed to attend the performances each year.

Overseas Travel

Avventura Italiana
Every two years the students of Greensborough College are invited to take part in our Avventura Italiana. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to spend two weeks in Italy with their fellow peers.

G’Day USA
Many of our students over the years have had the opportunity to go to America and live with an American family for 10 days and enjoy their culture and family life as well as going to school and exploring the local attractions. Students with a teacher ratio of 1:10 set off from the 28th of December through to the 6th of January for a 20-day tour of the West Coast of the United States.

Sporting Events

Greensborough College prides itself on a strong sporting reputation in our local area and have had great success over the years in a variety of sports. Interschool sport provides students an excellent opportunity to explore new sports they may never have played before and also gives them a chance to represent their school in the wider community.
