Twin Schooling

Setting Pittwater House apart from any other school is our approach to education. Our twin school struture, single-sex education in a co-educational setting, offers pupils the best of both worlds and provides them with not only an outstanding education but the opportunity to socialise in a real world environment; preparing them for life as an adult.

Gradual Introduction into Co-ed Classes

In the Junior School, the boys and girls are taught in single-sex classes, but also have the opportunity to learn in a co-educational environment when the teachers programme group work across the grade and the curriculum. At break time they all play together sharing their playground. This concept embraces all the proven advantages of single-sex education together with the benefits of social interaction.

In the Secondary School classes in Forms 5 to 8 are single-sex. Elective subjects in Forms 9 and 10 are taught in a co-educational setting while all classes in Forms 11 and 12 are fully co-educational to help students better prepare for the tertiary education environment.

No tears transition

We believe that every child should have the confidence to succeed. Pittwater House has designed key programmes to ensure your child feels supported and encouraged throughout their time at school.

The small pupil population and low pupil-teacher ratio at Pittwater House means our teachers are able to create extraordinary opportunities for their pupils. The school has well developed strategies in place to ensure a positive transistion at each stage of a pupil's journey- from home to school, from the junior school through the middle schooling years into Senior school, and onto university and a career.

Academic Excellence & Technology

Academic achievement is a cornerstone of our philosophy. In fact, 90% of the Pittwater House pupils that apply for university are granted placement in their first choice course, in the first round of offers.

Pittwater House recognises that technology is integral to life and embraces this. Technology is included throughout the school and the curriculum, making every lesson an exciting adventure and engaging pupils in their learning.

Sporting Programme

Pittwater House believes active pupils are confident pupils so maintains an outstanding sporting programme. Any child with a passion to play is welcomed into our sporting teams.

To reflect our committment to giving puils the best facilities and opportunities, Pittwater House is proudly home to a central playing field on campus which caters for School Rugby, Cricket, all levels of Athletics, Softball and Soccer. Pupils also enjoy all weather tennis, basketball and netball courts, fully equiped gym and weights room, and a short-course heated Olympic swimming pool built to FINA specifications.

In 2011, a new state of the art sports complex will be completed, further enhancing the sports programme.
