We welcome children of all families who accept this ethos, regardless of religious or ethnic origin.

A Community of Learners Focused on the Future

The right choice of school can greatly influence adult attitudes and values. At Forest Lake College, we are acutely aware that in addition to their academic achievement, our school environments contributes to the development of our students' social relationships, creativity, physical development and spiritual understanding. At our Primary school at Alpine Place and our Middle and Senior schools at College Avenue, the heart of a Forest Lake College education is the provision of a safe, caring, supportive yet disciplined learning environment, esuring each student is given every opportunity to succeed now and in their future.

From Prep to Year 8, all students learn Mandarin, giving them an understanding of Chinese language and culture which will provide our students with a competitve edge in embracing challenges in future international markets.

Research shows that musical training from a young age enhances learning capacity and memory, so every student from Year 1 to Year 8 has the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

The Dimensions of Learning curriculum framework develops knowledge management and thinking skills necessary for academic success and life long learning.

Technology is integrated across the curriculum and modern facilities have been designed for a rapidly developing technological environment.

Our links with tertiary institutions offer students the opportunity to study challenging curriculum at a university standard.

As a Registered Training Organisation, our vocational program is available to students seeking traineeships or apprenticeships.

Our learning enrichment program caters for the diverse learning needs of students, accelerating and challenging them to develop their potential in Science, Maths, English, IT and the Performing Arts.

Spiritual and Personal Development

Christian values form the basis of our personal development program at Forest Lake College and the safety and care of our students is of utmost importance to us. In addition, our teachers value the partnership they have with parents in seeking to provide children with the skills they need to relate to others, to be resilient when they face difficulties and to develop self-confidence.

Students at the College are encouraged to develop spiritually by participating in regular chapel services with their house groups and through age-appropriate class activities. It is intended that graduates from Forest Lake College are provided with the resources and skills to be able to make informed decisions about faith related issues. Students at all age levels are encouraged to develop a willingness to serve others.

At each year level students participate in our outdoor education camping program designed to develop student's self confidence, team work and leadership skills.

Educating the Whole Child - Performing Arts Programme

Forest Lake Colleges' extraordinary music program gives all students from Prep onwards the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument as part of the College curriculum. In addition to this, there is a wide range of co-curricular opportunities in which to participate as part of College ensembles, choirs and the musical held every second year. In keeping with the philosophy of full participation, a range of auditioned and non-auditioned groups is offered.

While Speech, Drama and Dance are offered as curricular subjects, students may choose to join a Drama Troupe or a Dance Excellence Team out of class time and enjoy performing with their friends and at College functions.

Educating the Whole Child - Sport Programme

Sport plays such an important role in encouraging students to develop healthy lifestyles through involvement in individual and team sports. From Prep to Year 3 students undertake a perceptual motor program prior to commencing the formal sporting program.
