Whitsunday Anglican School opened in 1988. The school has an excellent record of success across a range of academic and cultural fronts. Our students consistently produce OP results which are among the best in the state and NAPLAN results which compare favourably across the nation.
Our students have also been consistently successful in events like the state minister’s award for visual art, public speaking events like the Lions Youth of the Year and in think-tank events like the Model United Nations Youth Forum.
Our academic focus, is supported by strong pastoral care which seeks to assist students in optimising their potential for success in life by building in them the habits of self-belief, persistence and resilience. |

Whitsunday Anglican School has now completed its extension to the boarding facility, the Dalrymple Wing, and so there will be 78 students in Booth House in 2012. This expansion means we now offer full time boarding as well as continue with weekly boarding students from Bowen, Proserpine, Hamilton Island, Moranbah, Clermont, Dysart and Cannonvale. A school bus had been purchase to assist with transporting students to excursions and activities at weekends and during the week. |

During the last two years, personal computers have been introduced to students. In 2012, all students will have either a notebook (Years 4,5, and 6) or a tablet (Years 7,8,9,10,11 and 12). With our wireless campus, students can move from class to class and stay connected. |

With Queensland due to make Year 7 part of senior school in 2015, Whitsunday has increased Year 7 in 2012, from two classes to three, thus allowing more students the opportunity of experiencing our Middle School curriculum and environment. Year 7 will remain part of our Middle School in 2015 but will ensure the transition to the senior school curriculum is a smooth one. |

|
We have a Kindergarten class at present but during 2012, a new facility will be constructed to offer a state-of-the-art building for our early learners. |
