Collingwood Alternative School is a small, safe and supportive environment that is tailored to meet the needs and interests of students.
We believe that students have the right to learn, experience success, remain at school and enjoy their education.
Specifically we aim for students to:
• Gain a senior secondary qualification
• Develop skills and knowledge that prepares them for employment and training
• Build on their particular interests, set achievable goals and experience positive outcomes. |
Older students at CAS participate in the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning which is an accredited senior school certificate.
They are assisted with developing their employability skills through a range of vocational, personal development and work related learning outcomes. |
Students completing VCAL may elect to enrol in Certificate 1 in Furnishings offered at CAS or alternatively a Certificate 11 VET course offered through another educational provider. (There is a cost involved with VET courses) |
Younger students are provided with an integrated studies program which assists them with literacy, numeracy, general knowledge and social skills. |
