Let Your Light Shine

Established in 1884, Redlands is a dynamic, inspiring and nurturing learning community from Pre-School to Year 12, which offers an educational experience designed to inspire individual achievement and confidence for life.

Our extensive range of programs – academic, sports, creative, outdoor education, service – gives students the opportunity to learn, to achieve and to develop their unique skills and talents.

Our rich and balanced education program is aimed at developing well-rounded, confident and compassionate young adults who are encouraged to let their lights shine brightly – at school and beyond.

A Real World Education

Our positive and inclusive co-educational learning environment encourages mutual respect between girls and boys and develops emotional intelligence, maturity and inclusiveness, all critical attributes for life in the 21st century.

In learning together both in and out of the classroom, students share a rich diversity of ideas and experiences to broaden their perspectives and enhance their academic performance.

Our graduates are prepared to make a natural transition into the adult world and to confidently embrace the challenges and new opportunities that lie ahead.

Outstanding Academic Program

Our world class learning program is underpinned by the Redlands Learning Platform. Based on two world recognised learning frameworks, this school-wide 21st Century approach to teaching and learning develops skills of deep understanding and complex reasoning and effective habits of mind, enabling students to apply their knowledge to solving real life problems.

We have offered the International Baccalaureate for more than 20 years, longer than any other school in NSW. Today, 90 Redlands students are enrolled in the IB Diploma, studying an extensive range of subjects with the guidance of specialist IB teachers.

This choice of HSC or IB offers students the flexibility to develop their own individual pathway to academic success.

In the 2009 HSC and IB exam results, 6 students achieved an ATR of 99 or more, 34 students achieved an ATAR of 95 or more and 65 students achieved an ATAR of 90 or more.

Exciting Extra Curricular Activities and Sports

Redlands offers an unparalleled range of extra-curricular activities covering all interests from sport to music, performing and visual arts, academic and leadership and camps and community service, providing students with the encouragement to explore their individual interests, talents and passions.

The range of extra-curricular activities includes debating, drama, musical theatre, choir, orchestra, stage band, concert band, ballet & dance, chess, environmental, model solar car, Duke of Edinburgh and rock climbing.

Highlights include comprehensive snow sports and sailing programs, a Winter School at our High Country Campus in Jindabyne and an onsite Ballet and Dance Academy.

Activities to further develop leadership and confidence include debating and other academic opportunities such as Astronomy Club, Tournament of Minds and the Da Vinci Decathlon.

There is a very wide choice of sports, both in the Primary and the Secondary years.

A Global Community

Redlands warmly welcomes students from over 30 countries of birth. Our learning environment is enriched by the 20% of students and families who come from overseas. Nationalities represented include USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, China, Korea, South Africa and New Zealand.
