"Our Mernda Campus has a wide range of state of the art equipment and facilities to help your child explore and reach their full potential"
Gilson College is a great place for students – a place where they can get involved with the many different aspects of school life. Over the years we have endeavoured to make this a special place where Jesus reigns supreme. The dedication of the staff, the emphasis on service to others and the integration of faith and learning in the classroom testify to His influence.
As a member of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Education system, the College shares in a heritage that extends back to 1896 here in Melbourne, Australia. Perhaps one of the most important traditions is the friendliness, which pervades both campuses. Established on the Taylors Hill site in 1988 and on the Mernda site in 2013, Gilson College seeks to encourage the spiritual, academic, physical and social development of each student, in a caring Christian environment that promotes excellence.
Today, I am pleased that even though Gilson College still honours its traditions, it has its eye on the future. There’s usually a building program involving the construction or refurbishment of facilities, maintaining modern computer facilities, student scholarships, and a host of other activities making our campuses very dynamic places. We are blessed with strong church support, continued curricular innovation; staff and students who are simply outstanding; and with the ‘Main Man’s’ blessing we look to our future with more assurance.
If you’re thinking about enrolling at Gilson College, please visit our ‘enrolment info’ page. On both our campuses, you will find talented staff to guide and motivate you. If you are a former student, welcome back. Maybe you are a parent, a colleague at another school, a friend of Gilson College, or just a curious web-surfer, then please enjoy your electronic visit, and follow it up in person when you can.
God bless you.

Gilson College is open to students from all backgrounds and beliefs. The Gilson community welcomes all students and families who embrace the school's ethos and objectives.
While Gilson College acknowledges the Creator God as the essential source of all wisdom and virtue, the College recognises and respects the place of the Australian Curriculum (AC), the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) learning areas and studies and it endorses their study as part of the formal curriculum of the school.
The process of enrolment into Gilson College is one that will require a prospective student to meet the selection criteria. All applications will go before an Enrolments Committee where the suitability and / or readiness of the prospective student will be assessed and a written response will be forwarded to the family.
The standard process involves applying 1-2 years before the preferred entry time. The major intake years for entry to Gilson College are as follows:
* Foundation (formerly Prep)
* Year 7
Most applications for these year levels are offered in the May of the year preceding enrolment. Applications for entry at other year levels are welcome, however admission is subject to vacancies being available, as well as meeting the standard criteria for acceptance.
The College runs two Public Information evenings per year, one in March and the other in August. Please call the College at either Campus to obtain the specific dates for the next session.
