Strathfield Girls High School offers a wide curriculum of academic, VET, creative and performing arts, and sporting options. Our Year 7 and 8 Enrichment Classes provides opportunities for Gifted and Talented students to strive for their personal best. The extensive academic and elective curriculum inspires students to achieve their best, nurtures their individual talent and interest and encourages all to become independent learners.
There are specialist English as an Additional Language teachers, as well as dynamic Learning and Engagement and Wellbeing Teams which focus on personalising education and allowing every student to succeed.
The Higher School Certificate results at Strathfield Girls High School reflect our excellence. In 2016, our Higher School Certificate students achieved extremely impressive results. Students achieved examination means above the state mean in 34 out of 40 courses and students achieved 161 Band 6s and 483 Band 5s across all courses. Approximately 86% of our students gained university placements, while 5% went on to tertiary studies at TAFE.
Outstanding extra curricula enrichment opportunities are central to our school curriculum. Students can choose from programs such as debating, public speaking, Tournament of Minds, Student Leadership Programs, grade and recreational sports, Annual Musicale and Piano Night and dance opportunities, drama groups, choral groups, bands, Duke of Edinburgh Scheme, outdoor education and international visits.
Situated in tree-studded grounds, Strathfield Girls High School is well-resourced with state-of-the-art science laboratories, a commercial kitchen, a well-resourced library with study centres and audio-visual areas, fully equipped vocational training facilities, performance and studio spaces for visual arts, dance and drama and modern technology across the school.
The Strathfield Girls High School's well maintained playing fields, tennis courts, hockey field, basketball courts and gym encourage our students to enjoy and succeed in physical activity and sport.
Strathfield Girls High School welcomes international students and have a supportive environment for students from overseas. There is an International Students Coordinator and advisers to assist students at each year level.
