Thomas More College delivers both the Australian Curriculum from Years 7-10 and the SACE from Years 10-12. It is designed to provide students with key skills for future study and life in the 21st Century. We provide a broad range of experiences and develop the capabilities of a learner which underpin all learning areas and support subject specific knowledge, understanding and skills.
Students are encouraged via personal learning plans to uncover strengths, interests and passions and tailor their subject pathways in such a way that will enable further successful achievement at university, TAFE, apprenticeship, workplace and trainee levels.
The College provides flexibility in subject pathways both academic and vocational for students who may need extra support or those requiring acceleration beyond their year level.
In addition, the College provides extra support for individual needs through our Inclusive Education Program and EALD support program.
This area supports students to develop their language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking and includes a variety of purposed such as study, vocation, interpersonal communication and leisure. The Inclusive Education Team supports the academic and social development of students with a disability, learning difficulty or mental health condition within the school community from Year 7 to Year 12.
MUSIC
Students engage in a range of music styles, from playing musical instruments to contemporary music production.
VISUAL ARTS
Our Visual Art facility is an open plan learning centre that accommodates all year levels and boasts access to a wide range of both traditional and contemporary media. We foster skills and creative conceptualisation across the disciplines of art, design and photography.
THEATRE PRODUCTION
The College Production works to engage students and staff from all year levels and disciplines. Students can be involved in dance, singing, orchestra, stage management, set design and building, sound, lighting, costuming and make-up design. The culmination of all these skills in a Production is an invaluable experience for students, staff and the wider College community.
