St Aloysius Catholic College (Year 5-8)

Welcome

At St Aloysius Catholic College we provide quality, caring Catholic education which nurtures each students’ potential, inspired by the values of compassion, service, and excellence.

From Kindergarten to Year 12, our dedicated staff work to create a supportive environment where students can thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.

Our motto of strive, believe, achieve exemplifies this holistic approach to education that assists students in partnership with parents to be prepared for a rich and thriving future.

Our College provides a faith environment of care that cultivates educational excellence.

Our Campuses

We are unique in having three modern campuses: Junior Campus – Kindergarten to Year 4; Middle Campus – Year 5 to Year 8; Senior Campus – Year 9 to Year 12.

Our Curriculum

Catholic values are central to learning and teaching at St Aloysius Catholic College. Within these values, we aim to foster self-esteem, self-confidence and respect for the gifts and needs of the individual and an awareness of the unique contribution each can make to the College community.

Learning and teaching programs throughout the College are based on the Australian Curriculum, which has been designed to provide students with sound capabilities in literacy, numeracy, critical and creative thinking, information and communication technology, personal and social development and ethical and intercultural understanding.

We aim to provide a high quality, balanced education in which all students can fulfil their spiritual and academic potential.

Learning Support, Diversity, and Enrichment

St Aloysius aims to be an inclusive school that attends to individual learning needs so that all students experience growth, and achieve their full potential.

The College supports students with diverse learning needs according to a student’s individual needs within the mainstream educational environment.

We want to give all of our learners the opportunity to become confident, just and productive human beings and provide enrichment education for gifted and talented students for these learners to achieve their personal best.

Students recognised as experiencing long term learning challenges will usually have a Learning Plan that is developed by parents and teachers with input from teacher assistants, other allied education or medical professionals and sets out the goals, learning program and strategies for that student.

Indigenous Education

The Aboriginal Education program at St Aloysius Catholic College aims to help, support and connect Aboriginal students with their history and culture. This is partly done through camps and excursions throughout the year. With the help of cultural leaders, elders and knowledge holders, students are given a safe space to explore current events, aspects of their culture and history.

In addition to supporting First Nations students, the Aboriginal Education program also plans and delivers a wide range of learning opportunities for ALL students. Our program ensures all students are given opportunities to enrich their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
