Our School Orchestra is one of the largest and most active programs on offer at Hurlstone. With more than 100 students being involved in rehearsals each week and performances at all the major school events, the group are well respected in South West Sydney as one of the premier school ensembles.
Our extensive instrumental and orchestral program caters to all students of all levels of musical experience.
In 2025, Hurlstone now has a brand new, state of the art, fully air-conditioned boarding facility for male and female students, which accommodates up to 180 boarders from across New South Wales and beyond.
This offers students from rural, remote and overseas communities the chance to learn in a supportive, vibrant academic community with high expectations and a commitment to excellence. Senior students reside in single airconditioned rooms. Additionally, the new facilities have wheelchair accessible rooms, beds and bathrooms.
Our close-knit boarding environment fosters deep and lasting friendships, as students live and learn together, sharing in the joys and challenges of daily life.
Our boarding staff live onsite with additional staffing arrangements ensuring supervision and support for all boarding students is consistent, respectful and trusting.
