Radford College
Radford College is a leading independent co-educational Anglican school in Canberra, offering a seamless Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 journey on one expansive campus. We combine academic excellence with co-curricular depth, values-based learning and a culture of belonging. Guided by our values of Truth, Compassion and Wisdom, we are committed to nurturing capable, compassionate and confident young people who will make a meaningful impact in a changing world.
Radford College is dedicated to setting the standard for excellence in every aspect of education, creating an environment where students flourish academically and personally. Excellence is a lived experience that shapes students into confident and resilient leaders who will make a positive contribution to society. Our students are nurtured to achieve their personal best in a culture where mastery, ambition and purpose drive authentic growth.
Wellbeing begins with strong pastoral care. Each student is seen, known and supported through a network of dedicated staff, including Heads of Year, Teacher Mentors and specialist services. The framework is designed to:
- foster meaningful relationships between staff and students
- promote character education
- provide academic, social and emotional guidance
- ensure every student feels seen, safe, supported and valued.
The College also provides access to counsellors, health services, wellbeing programs and quiet rooms to meet the needs of students at each stage of their journey.
Wellbeing programs are delivered College-wide and are tailored to meet the needs of each age and stage. For example, topics for the Secondary School include goal setting and striving, building respectful relationships, digital citizenship and safety, mental health education, drug and alcohol education and consent education.
A Radford education balances academic rigour with creativity, co-curricular depth and innovation. Every opportunity is intentionally designed to inspire self-discovery, develop leadership and foster resilience. Whether on stage, on the sporting field, in service, or in the outdoors, students grow in confidence and capability – equipping them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
The Junior School is a vibrant learning community where every student is known, supported and encouraged to flourish. With small class sizes, exceptional teaching and a focus on wellbeing, students build the confidence to explore, question and grow.
Our approach is shaped by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), which develops learners who are independent, open-minded and engaged with the world around them. Academic rigour is balanced with creativity, co-curricular opportunities and values-based education, ensuring a holistic start to each child’s Radford journey.
From the earliest years, students are encouraged to explore their interests through a diverse program of age-appropriate activities. Junior School co-curricular opportunities range across sport, music, creative arts, performing arts and clubs. Participation builds skills, friendships and confidence, supporting each student’s sense of belonging while laying foundations for future growth.
Radford College’s Secondary School is a place of growth, discovery and opportunity. From Years 7 to 12, students experience a future-focused education that balances academic excellence with wellbeing, leadership and co-curricular depth. The secondary journey builds on the strong foundations of Junior School and prepares students to graduate as confident, compassionate young people. Enrichment opportunities are available to challenge talented students beyond the classroom.
In the Secondary School, students engage with a broad range of activities. The program is intentionally designed to offer both depth and breadth, catering to individual talents while encouraging new experiences. Whether joining clubs, pursuing sport at an elite level, taking part in music ensembles or participating in performing arts productions, every student has the opportunity to discover a pathway that challenges and inspires them.
