St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls

Opportunities for Life

As one of Australia’s leading independent schools, St Hilda's has a rich history and a strong culture of striving for excellence. The School encourages girls to follow their dreams by offering opportunities for life. Girls seek out challenges to enhance mind, body and spirit, while broadening their horizons in knowledge, skill and understanding.

Values

Students discover that caring for others is a reward in itself and experience companionship in times of fun and hard work. They learn to value reason, imagination, truth, compassion, enterprise, responsibility and Christian values. St Hilda’s girls stand on their own, growing in independence and prepared to be major contributors to tomorrow.

Junior School

The Chidley Junior School was designed specifically for students to explore their unique creative talents and views of the world. Classroom environments are organised in line with the latest teaching philosophies and provide a safe and challenging environment in which young minds are stimulated. Students enjoy generous spaces for activities, socialising, rehearsing, performing and quiet contemplation. These include a Sport, Fitness and Health Centre, Library and dedicated Arts facilities. The Campus provides working parents with seamless care before and after school hours with Extend-ED day and Vacation Programmes.

Senior School

At the Bay View Campus, the emphasis is on fostering creative, critical thinkers and developing independent learning. St Hilda’s offers a wide range of subject choices with strength and innovation across all faculties. Girls can opt for more traditional subject choices or can delve into more contemporary options with subjects such as Forensic Science, Marine Biology and Design.
St Hilda’s has a visionary approach to incorporating technology as a tool for learning. Computer resources at St Hilda’s prepare girls realistically for the workplace by offering both Mac and PC applications. Beyond the classroom, St Hilda's offers a wide variety of traditional and contemporary sports as well as music, art, drama, mock trials and public speaking programmes.

Career Preparation

The Careers Centre provides guidance for girls who wish to undertake tertiary study, and vocational support through workplace learning programmes for girls who will take up positions in the workforce. The Tutoring Centre is one of St Hilda's greatest strengths, as it provides personalised academic support for girls who need help and also for able students with a particular need. What sets St Hilda’s apart is the attention paid to each student. Personal development is monitored closely with pastoral care being the responsibility of every staff member.
